so I got a skateboard
like I’ve been meaning to for a really long time. It’s pretty much exactly like I expected because 1) It’s awesome, and 2) I really fucking suck. However, rolling around campus is really fun! I’ve started to get the hang of pushing and staying on the board. Powerslides are my next goal. My hands are all roughed up from griptape and concrete. Feels good.
There were some crust punk/death punk bands at Deathfest (Deviated Instinct, Hellbastard), and they fuckin’ riiiiiiiiiiiiipppppppeddddddd. It’s cool stuff!

Maryland Deathfest Portrait, No. 1: Meet Jordan, John and Dave from Atlanta, Georgia. These dudes discovered a shared love of metal in a nerdy fraternity at Georgia Tech, which is about the nerdiest thing I’ve ever heard. (Go Dawgs, by the way.) They’re all working their ways up through physics and computers… things I don’t pretend to understand. But mostly, they came to MDF to see Electric Wizard.
